The First Presbyterian Church began its LOGOS ministry in September, 1997; calling it Wednesday Night LIVE! (WNL!). WNL! enrolls over 50 students including children and youth for pre-school to high school. Our ministry is supported by over 40 adults who volunteer in the four parts of the LOGOS Ministry. WNL! has been a blessing to its students and leaders. We invite you to join us Wednesday nights during the school year to witness WNL! for yourself. You'll find our Parent Handbook and Nightly Themes at the links below.
We’ve also included this over view of the LOGOS Ministry for a better understanding of what LOGOS is.
The LOGOS Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry that works in partnership with local church leaders to build young disciples of Jesus Christ.
LOGOS Fundamental Beliefs
At LOGOS, we believe that nothing is more important than a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and that we should all seek to be His disciples. We also believe that everyone is a Child of God and should be treated with the love, respect, and dignity that are found in Jesus’ great commandment to us.
Foundations of a LOGOS Ministry
A LOGOS ministry with children is built on three foundational concepts:
Theology of Relationships A strong scripturally-based understanding of who God is in our lives, the nature of our personal relationship with God, and the resulting impact on our relationships with others because of God’s presence in our lives.
Balanced Ministry A requirement that ministry addresses and engages the mind, soul and body in a disciple-making process that teaches and provides an opportunity to practice the faith.
Process of Call A scripturally-directed approach for aligning personal gifts and efforts with the needs of a ministry or mission that results from God’s purpose and plan.
Multi-Part Ministry Model
For more than 45 years, LOGOS has partnered with local churches in a ministry to children and youth that is based upon the spiritual intent of the early Christian church as expressed in the Bible’s book of Acts. As a result, many LOGOS weekly ministries are composed of four parts that are integrated within a nurturing environment of Christian relationships.
The four parts of the LOGOS weekly ministry model are:
Bible Study - Bible study nurtures youth and children into intelligent, obedient, and biblically-informed discipleship. In grade level groups, each LOGOS class uses a curriculum that is designed to meet their unique needs and learning capabilities. We have developed Faith for Life2 to be a powerful Bible study resource for any weekly LOGOS ministry.
Worship Skills - Worship is essential and central to the Christian community. In Worship Skills young people learn about worship and prepare to lead in the Sunday morning service of worship. This is typically done through singing, bell, or speaking choirs, drama, or movement and dance.
The LOGOS Ministry is a Christian organization that partners with congregations and other ministries to establish and support a unique design of ministry that equips adult leaders to nurture people of all ages into discipleship.
